1、 Reasons for poor surface quality of NC vertical lathe

In the first test of machining raceway on NC vertical lathe, the tool used is machine clamped round blade outer round turning tool, the blade diameter is 16ram, 8 equal high sizing blocks are used to clamp the parts, and the corresponding pressing plates are used to fasten them. During the processing, it is found that the surface quality of the raceway is poor. Through observation, it is found that the position of the surface quality of the raceway is regular, which mainly appears in the position without pressing plate and sizing block, while the position with pressing plate and sizing block has better surface quality. After analysis, we believe that this regular phenomenon of poor surface quality may be caused by the combination of the following reasons.

1. The diameter of the part reaches about 2800mm, but the height of the part does not exceed 1o0mm. The maximum wall thickness of the ring is about 100mm. The rigidity of the part itself is poor, which is easy to produce vibration during processing, resulting in poor surface quality.

2. There are few equal height sizing blocks and pressing plates used for processing this part. According to the calculation of 2800mm diameter, one pressing plate is set every 1100mm arc length on the circumference, resulting in poor local rigidity at the position where equal height sizing blocks and pressing plates are not used for clamping.

3. The external turning tool with machine clamped round blade has a diameter of 16ram and the contact length of cutting edge is much shorter than that of ordinary forming turning tool. However, due to the poor edge performance of coated cemented carbide blade, the cutting force is still large, which is easy to cause vibration and affect the surface quality.
